)I think my first contact with pen spinning was in 2004, when I saw the Superhandz Kam video. But at this time I was just “Woaw, that’s amazing, I would never be able to do that !”. A few months later a friend show me the Tourneffaceur website (http://tourneffaceur.free.fr), but I still thought I would not be able to learn this.
Then in 2005 in my classroom, two mates were doing the Thumbaround. At the beginning I was just thinking it was funny, but… useless. But on Wednesday 2006 March 22th (about 2.30pm ^^), I learnt the Thumbaround, and at the same time (random is funny) I found the Spowash blog (http://penspinning.skyblog.com) and so I also learnt Fingerless Thumbaround Reverse and Backaround. When I came back at school overnight, the mates who had fun with Thumbaround were so impressed by my two new tricks :-p
With the pens I had in my pencil case, I created a mod, I called it Grip Aviaire because there is grip everywhere on and because of a pun (“grippe aviaire” is “avian flu” in French). I never thought this mod would be used by an other pen spinner than me. Now it has crossed the borders and I’m so happy to see it is appreciated.
I wanted to spin better my pens, and I learnt some other tricks like Sonic and Infinity during the next week, and I joined FPSB. So I continued learning new tricks and combos, and I’ve quickly become a Bonkura fan, his PSN2 combo amazed me and I still love it. The reason I continued spinning my pens is Bonkura’s combos and a Duffer Wing combo I’ve lost now, but I’ve watched it so many times that I can see it again just by closing my eyes. This Duffer Wing combo made me love Backaround Fall (he used it in his combo), so I worked a lot to be able to do it, and after 2 months and a half of pen spinning (about June 2006), I successfully learnt Backaround Fall (but I had to wait 2 months more to learn Thumbaround Reverse, I had big difficulties with trick o_o’ ).
And so I span my pens, I improved my skill and so on… In 2007, I’ve been chosen by FPSB members to participate to World Tournament 07. Such an honor for me… First round: Taeryong… When I learnt this I told to FPSB that they should not count on me for finals, because I would never win this round :-p… But then I trained a lot, for hours everyday, and I made the hardest combo I’ve ever made (today I still be unable to do it again…) and I won against Taeryong \o/ Then 2nd round against Aki-Maru, 3rd round against Key3, 4th round against Gollumsk8, and finals… I couldn’t believe I reached final rounds… And so I ended 4th. Then I think I absolutely don’t deserve this place, especially because of my 3rd round, I shouldn’t have won against Key3, and I feel like stealing 4th place to him…
In June 2007, I become Moderator on FPSB. And I’ve been recently selected in FPSB team for World Cup 08.
Today I’ve successfully realized every of my “pen spinner dreams” :-)
There are so many pen spinners I like, among them: Taeryong, Key3, Fratleym, Skatox, Cheukii, Ubobub, Eriror, DkGamer, PS-728, Bonkura, Fresh-Gel, Abel, Nory, Leo, Mizm, Ålan, Le0n, Saizen, etc…
What about my two classmates who made me learn the Thumbaround ? One is now able to do Thumbaround Harmonic and Thumbspin 2.0, the other on is able to do Thumbaround Harmonic and Continuous Thumbaround x4.
Thanks to them, thanks to my friends (in real life and on MSN), thanks to FPSB, thanks to every pen spinner in the world :-)
